Tanglewood Apartments at 306 Sam Houston Drive
A partnership between two Texas apartment management companies is planned to bring premium amenities to three Victoria apartments.
“Residents will benefit from many of the same styles and amenities as are found in newer A-class properties,” said Michael Knight, vice president of operations for Better World Companies, in a written statement.
In late February, Better World Companies and HM Equity Management purchased Silvermine Apartments, 6803 N. Navarro St.; Victoria Station Apartments, 1701 Victoria Station Road; and Tanglewood Apartments, 306 Sam Houston Drive.
Proposed amenities for those apartments include dog parks, “yappy hours,” electric fireplaces in common areas, modern designs with glass and stone walls, pool cabanas and outdoor kitchens, kitchen backsplash accents, upgraded lighting, new appliances and new cabinets among other improvements.
Hurricane Harvey delayed the partnership’s deal – which predated the storm – and improvement plans, Knight said. It also considerably damaged Silvermine Apartments.
“We are very happy to get these properties back online,” said Knight in an interview.
Knight declined to release the price paid by the partnership for the properties.
While Knight said prices for current and future residents will increase because of the improvements, the changes will be well worth the cost. Although prices will vary, the apartments should be affordable for the average apartment dweller in Victoria, he said.
“They are going to see a better apartment,” he said.
